Why do we expect cops to do the right thing and not the navy that was still employing her before she shot a person? There are no doctors in the navy?

As long as nobody wants to own all the people with mental issues in the USA, the cops will keep being the thin blue line of safety. As long as the rest of the nation stimatizes mental illness, people will keep working until they are broken.

I am not sure if an inexperienced and overworked social worker is a solution to working with a mentally ill family especially if the social worker is not given the resources to house people.
