When I was young, I read that young single dressed themselves. Older married ladies dress their house. If she does not go to comic con, there is almost zero chance of sci fi toys in the house. One of my lucky friend has a wall of stuff. It used to a room and a half. There is some compromise. Some of my male friends have shelves of books. Others get to "choose" the electrical and electronic appliances. Interesting stuff like home bars or liquor counters have gone the way of the dodo.
