This is why when I teach, I usually spend more time on etymology, history, folklore. BTW, I teach IT. At the end of day there is a desire to understand the why of things.

The folklore part occurs when people repeat myths or other BS theory. I can accept the common myth part, but I draw line at crazy conspiracy theories.
