This is my clue that the author has not been in a modern office. Kitchen (or pantry) water is history. The modern office only has bottled water (or cooler) or filtered water. On the rare occasion there is no more bottled water, it is tap water (boiled). Office managers hate to hear phrase "outbreak in the office".

Most staff will buy their own bottled water before drinking toilet water because they have seen the state of their own toilets. I blame it on the people living their lives in the office.

Did I mention that some offices have cool coffee machines where you can choose the type of coffee you want? Some use capsules. Good coffee but tough on the environment. The smarter machines will notify a vendor to top up coffee beans in the machine so you will never run out of coffee. I do not care about the water since the machine is boiling it to make coffee.

For the decaf drinkers, I have no clue what they do with the expensive coffee machines. That said, they are not addicted to the caffeine, so I guess they can drink when they are home.
