The sad part is that the boomers created a mentality that you just need to know the right stuff. Get the right education. Know what to invest in. Get the right job. Or get more jobs.

And before you suggest working remotely, that is how your job gets shipped overseas.

If it is out of a boomer's mouth, it is wisdom. If it is out of a younger generation's mouth, it is just that rudeness.
