One thing I learn about photographing wildlife is that about not judging the parents. I have seen bird nests built at the base of a plant next to a busy walkway. Nests as the same bird or its kids seem to return to the same spot which is a few inches from being kicked. But after the rush hour, the spot is devoid of activity.
Mother rabbit probably thought that two well fed dogs (and a cat) were better odds than a hungry wild predator.
