It is called covering your ***.

Decisions lead to responsibility. Communication leads to commitment. This reduces the opportunity for finger pointing or blame shifting. Or even entertaining the boss. Leaderness usually have excellent coverage for their superiors.

We saw that you can be unqualified but if you love 45, you can run America. (Or at least get to be on a board of visitors for the Air Force Academy)

People want their job. We attend meetings. They just move their behind from one room to another. People have to get coffee for them or pick up their phone. Minions work 80 hours. They just sit behind closed doors. I assume they sit because their behind usually becomes bigger over time.

You just need to let minions know that their job is die for you. Or throw the unsuspecting ones under the bus.
