If you are typing into a text file, it is hard to do stuff.

But you can type into mindmaps, post and paste (digital), or even write for OCR conversion to text.

Once the information is in text, you can use search. edit, spell check, etc.

I agree if I am off the grid, studying willife or doing reconnaissance, I would take a pen and paper. But if I am in an office environment with electircity and wifi, digital is the way to go.

There is also voice to text apps.

There are also people that draw their notes.

My point is that digital is not a fixed tool.
