I think one issue is that the spotlight is not turn on the bad employers. There were companies during the pandemic that asked their sick employees to return to work. There are employers that did nothing to make their companies compliant to the Covid-19 rules. Some did not allow their staff to wear masks until the mask mandate. There are companies that told their entry level staff to enforce the mask mandate without any directions or perform additional cleaning duties without pay.

But sure, it is easier to blame future employees.
