I have nothing against the Methodist church. However there could be a silver lining. When faced with extinction, would some denominations put aside their difference? Let me give an example, there is the Church of the Sepulchre. It is owned by six different denominations and fights are known to break out in it. Is it worth six churches time to fight over some ancient real estate in Israel (Jesus' alleged tomb)? You have monks currently policing the place to ensure other monks do not trespass.
The other worry is what will be its replacement. A more extreme church? A church that thinks that if it cannot rule the world, than nobody should get to stay in it?
