Drones are not rank and file worker bees. Drones are like their insect counterpart that provides great pleasure to the senior management. They give their corporate bosses an appearance that their work is exotic. Eg. Synergistic or creates a new dimension.

They only provide some input but there are worker bee who have to carry the babies of the drone to term.
